The spirit of this drop-in game runs something like this, we all play for the love of hockey, but we all have to get up the next day and go to work.  We play to C grade 'drop in' rules which is summarised as no deliberate contact and no slap shots.

Does this mean non-contact? - hell no, it is hockey, not chess!  We play by common respect; no cheap shots, no agro and no big hits (unless you and someone else in full kit and both want to muck about, in which case, make sure no-one else gets caught up in the carnage and make sure you're both laughing when you get up!)

RULE 1 - "NO-AGRO"  As this is an 'invitational' drop in game, convenors reserve the right to exclude or eject anyone who is not playing within the spirit of this game.  We are doing this because we love playing ice hockey - in other words, we are in it for the fun!

RULE 2 - "PLAY FAIR"  We play without refs and expect all players to adhere to good sportsmanship.

RULE 3 - "SEE THE FIRST TWO RULES"

Over the next few weeks, we will be adding to this site as time and talent presents.

Skate hire is not available for senior hockey. Some helmets are available at the rink also.  BYO stick, pads etc.

Minimum kit to get on the ice: stick, helmet (full face is strongly recommended), groin guard, gloves and skates; at least one definitively light or dark jersey is needed (please bring one of each to allow balancing of teams).

We will do our best to back off from those who do not yet have full kit, but I personally value my body parts too much to think about playing in anything less than full kit.

For those acquiring a collection piece by piece, I would acquire in order; knees (includes shins), elbows, pants and shoulders.

Beginners are more than welcome.  We will all do our best to make sure that beginners get a feel for the game and many players are very experienced (even an accredited coach or two) and will happily offer advice that is requested or invited.
