What to wear when watching Ice Hockey Hopefully you have already read the previous page and know a little about what to expect at the rink. Now you can also read about what to wear to a rink, but rest assured, with all that ice, it will be cold, normally as cold as your refrigerator! Even if it is a 30 degree summer's day outside, you will need suitable warm stuff if you are not moving around a lot (skating). Layers are the key! I recommend a good warm jacket at the very least. Ski gloves are great too. Bared midriffs and short sleeves might be good fashion statements but are not good in a fridge! A foam seat is a good thing (camping cushion or similar). Bring a thermos of hot drink to keep the throat warm. Take a blanket to throw over the knees and keep the heat in. This might seem extreme, but until you understand how much body heat can be lost sitting still in the cold, please take this advice. There is a tonne of ice in there and the air temperature has to be kept low to keep it, especially in Qld.
